Over 100 members played in glorious sunshine over last Sunday. in Mrs Annette Birtwistle Lady Captains Prize. The competition was held on Sunday July 10th 2011.Cathy O’Leary playing off 11 emerged victorious from a very large field to claim the special honour of winning Lady Captain’s Mrs Annette Birtwistle Prize.Cathy was a popular winner with a magnificent 37 points c/b, second was .Bridget Bolster playing off 11 with a score of 37 pts. Third was Maeve Coghlan playing off 33 with 36 pts; and the Gross prize was won by Helen Costello playing off a handicap of 7.Margaret Phelan Muray won the prestigious Past Captains Lady Captains Prize. The Lady Vice Captain Marie Grubb paid great tribute to the Lady Captain Annette for her past achievements representing Tramore Golf Club and contribution and hard work as 2011 Lady Captain In her address to the large crowd in attendance at the presentation Annette commented on the wonderful condition of our course.Annette thanked the club officials and dignitaries for their support and help throughout the past year, and said it was a great honour for her to serve as Lady Captain of Tramore Golf Club. Annette summed up her year as one of her most enjoyable years in the club where she and her husband Ian have been members for many years and has made a number of friends through their association with the club.She also thanked all staff the course staff, the bar, catering, office and professional staff and for their help and support during her term as Lady Captain. Lady Captains Prize Day concluded with presentation by Annette and celebrations continued until a late hour.
