Course Maintenance
COURSE MAINTENANCE
It has been agreed to close the first 11 holes on the original course for 2 weeks commencing on the Saturday 19th of January and re-opening on Monday 4th February. These holes will re-open on each Friday during this window for the Friday singles competition.

52 Teams of 3 checked in on the day. Each player was given a Chia Bia Bar sponsored by Barrie Rogers .The time sheet was run by Danny like a Military Operation. The Amount of €2340 was taken in the Golf Shop. Gerry Goodwin took to selling raffle tickets which raised the amount of €469. The prizes for the raffle were donated by Monica White and Bernie Keane. Many thanks to all those who Sponsored, played , donated or bought tickets for this very special cause.

The Captain's (Mr. Fred Blackett) Dinner will be held at the Clubhouse on Friday 23rd November 2012. Dinner will be at 8.30 pm sharp. Neat dress essential.
The function room accommodates up to 180 persons. In view of the limitation on space, applications for places will, in the first instance, be accepted only from members and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Reservations, together with the appropriate remittance, should be sent to reach the Hon Secretary as soon as possible.

with a closing round of 71 for a three-round total of 210 (four under par).

Intervarsity first round scores
NUI Maynooth's Gary Hurley leads by four shots going into the final round of the Intervarsity Championship in Tramore, with his college-mate Kieran Lynch, Cork IT's Ross O'Sullivan and NUIG's Damien McDonough all tied for second.
Hurley added a 65 on the Newtown Course to his opening 74 for a two-round total of three-under 139. Defending champion Tiaran McLarnon is well back on 152.
UCD's Chloe Ryan leads the Ladies section after a level-par 75, four strokes clear of NUIM's Emily McGuinness.
